Our profile
Since 1998 politik-digital is leading the political information and communication scenery using internet facilities
in Germany.
politik-digital is operated by the independent association pol-di.net.
Membership subscriptions, journalistic tasks, public projects , and co-operation with content creating partners are
the sources of our financial funds. We are a registered co-operative striving for general usefulness.
We are aiming at
Your Attention.
On 12 pages we introduce our websites, our network and our ideas.
Your Support
We are looking forward to people with methods and capabilities to contribute to the success of pol-di.net - like
congenial foundations, supporting enterprises, consulting experts or as editorial co-operators.
We have
A good Name.
More than 100 chats and interviews with German politicians and political journalists testify the acceptance of our
website. More than 1 000 online-contributions from over 50 authors have been presented to our online audience.
A Basis.
pol-di.net is not connected with factions, with publishers, agencies. Our supporters are young,, dynamic entrepreneurs,
scientists, journalists who have formed politik-digital. With pol-di.net we contribute actively to a democratic and
digital development of the European information-society.
Two high grade websites.
First of all pol-di.net is using the internet to reach its goals: on the website politik-digital.de is developing
journalistic formats and new concepts for political communication and participation. Moreover, pol-di.net is operating
the website europa-digital .Based on outstanding contents europa-digital is establishing co-operations with political
websites in various European countries.
Ideas for the Future of Politics.
In the future pol-di.net expands its activities on three additional ranges: online-education with high-grade contents
including didactic preparation of net resources. As consultants we make our cross-linked know-how available. Offline
we plan the dialogue with partners and observers of digital politics
including science, economy, politics and media.
How digital are politics going to be?
The internet is increasingly influencing the development of politics and , especially, the political communication.
We assist this development very actively since 1998. We understand the public discussion regarding social subjects
within the new media scenery as an outstanding chance to develop an European information association.
1. Make political life visual
Today politicians at all levels - national and international - are open for new ways of political dialogues via net.
Our contributions are various political internet chats, detailed internet tests with politicians and factions, thus
making politics transparent for the general public.
2. Publication of political information
Day in day out more political information are available via internet creating more participation and transparency of
public discussions and decisions. However, the chances of the public are limited to comment and look at all political
subjects in advance i.e. drafts of bills; contents and themes have to be prepared for the general public instead of
being restricted to the so called info-elite.
3. We make political processes clear
We try to present these processes clearly and with competence. The hyperlink-structure is a perfect instrument to
classify and display text and materials in handy sensible sections. "Understandable" also means: we use clear words
one can easily understand. Politics are complicated, however, we try to improve the view with our contributions.
The pol-di principle
pol-di's motto:
Discover digital added value - and contribute to the future of politics actively.
There are three elements
Information
Communication
Participation
The internet creates new combinations with these elements. For over two years we are testing these combination;
however, their potentials are by far not used up, yet.
INFORMATION
Information comes first. Information is the base for the individual political opinion and for all forms of
participation. pol-di filters the comprehensive information data and leads the way for the user to obtain complete
information about internet and politics.
COMMUNICATION
Politically active citizens communicate directly via internet directly -the quality of this communication depends
on their know-how. We support this know-how. pol-di user can talk with the editorial staff and the forum; they also
can chat repeatedly, monthly with top politicians. On the other hand all politicians have to keep up with their
online-competence. Our chats and tests reveal fitness and backlogs.
PARTICIPATION
Citizens, individuals or groups using the internet may give new impulses to politics. We support these processes:
based on our comprehensive information pol-di users not only may express their individual opinion, they also can
support political petitions and discuss drafts of bills.
